Chef’s Way of Warming Up Flour Tortillas!

There are three different ways that allow you to warm up your flour tortillas using the basic kitchen appliances. Be ready to feel like Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver equipped with the methods described below:

Using Stove and a Pan

The easiest technique to show-off your skill of warming up flour tortillas is to use a stove and pan. Just turn on the heat of your stove to medium and warm a non-sticky pan over it.

Once the pan is completely warm, place your flour tortilla for 30 seconds and press it with Spatula and then turn the side and do the same.

Using a Microwave to Warm Tortilla

If you are too lazy to use a stove and pan, then we suggest you use a microwave. Simply wrap your flour tortillas in aluminum foil sheet and place it in microwave.

To get perfectly warmed up tortillas, it is advisable to use the microwave for short bursts of 30 seconds until the tortillas are perfectly warmed.

Update: We have noticed some accidental incidents on the application of this method. So, We do not recommend this now.

Warm By an Oven

Even when warming flour tortillas, you can give yourself a feeling of being a professional baker by using an oven. Wrap up your flour tortillas in aluminum foil and put it into the preheated oven of 350 Fahrenheit for 2 minutes.

How To Warm Corn Tortillas Like a Pro!

Corn tortillas generally require a little bit more time to warm up than flour tortillas. However, the main difference is that you can warm up your corn tortillas in a toasty and crunchy manner.

The easiest way to do so is with the help of tongs. Just turn on your gas stove to low-medium and place the corn tortilla directly on it.

Keep flipping the sides after every 15 -20 seconds so that the tortillas are not burned.

As soon as black burn marks start to appear and you smell the toasty fragrance, it is the indication that your corn Tortilla is ready to serve.

Remind yourself of the color and smell of perfectly warm tortillas that you have eaten elsewhere. This will help you to take the tortillas off the stove at the exact moment.

The key point here is to be cautious and focus on your tortillas, because they are on direct flame. Even a little distraction can result in a burned tortilla rather than a warm one.

A quick tip to warm up old tortillas is to spray water on it before warming it up. If you wet an old Corn or Flour Tortilla to warm it up, it will turn out to be perfectly warm and fresh.

You can also use the microwave and oven methods described above for flour Tortillas. However, you need to warm corn Tortillas a little more than flour tortillas to give it a perfectionist touch. Some people use oil to warm up their corn tortillas, which I would recommend only in case you are warming up your corn tortillas on a cast iron skillet.

Hello, Thanks for your valuable information. We have tried this and found that the method doesn’t really work right. Though we have not faced anything like what you have said, we do not recommend this from now on.

Clean the potatos (you can peel them, but thats a matter of preference as far as Im concerned, I usually dont), and then dice them into small cubes, roughly m?. Put the dice in a pan with sunflower oil and slowly heat them for 20-25 minutes on rather low temperature, dont forget to stir so they get evenly well done.
